Faith

Posted

On the darkest paths, I walked in deepest night
Stormy skies and winding roads I tripped and I fell.
On blooded knees, on bruised elbow,
Sometimes I would sit helplessly alone,
Thinking myself a stranger on this planet.

I crawled down my path, at times, progress slow.
Progress pained and unsteady at best.
With a hollow heart, I howled into the darkness,
Angry and Forsaken~ Lost and maltreated~
Butterfly soft, I felt a flicker of faith whispered "Hope".
Epiphanically, thunderstruck, the surge of understanding,
The rush of knowledge of acceptance and serenity...

Without tears how will one really enjoy the laughter?
Without the wrong turns how will relish the correct choices?
Without experience, how does one learn wisdom?
Without feeling alone, how does truely learn everything about one`s self?
Without Faith, how does one know that it will be as it should?

Heroic Goodbye

The tears salty and wet slide
cold and wet down painted cheeks
dripping into the corners of my lips
as I walk away from the airport terminal.
Blurred vision and roars of people`s voices
cloud my ears as if I stood in caferia of high school
students, joking, laughing, smiling, and living life
carefree and happy...
Jeolous me, I haunt my empty skin hallow and tightly
squeeze past the maze to follow exit signs to breath the polluted air filled with smell of burnt fuel and smoke,
I stumble to find my floor on the multilevel parking lot.
To find my solice in my white van, hands shaking, groping for my pack of cigarettes and lighter, my country music wailing comforting lyrics, so that I can burying my head in my face and allow my face to bleed freely and the music to drown my wails of a solider`s wife cries... Her ritual goodbye, the time where her walls come down, that minute where her soul is bare and rare, that time she doesn`t tell him about, the howl of loss the music covers, the smoke help clouds, and the closed doors mutes. She wipes her tears, she blows her nose, and she puts on her sunglasses.
She starts her van and drives back her hour drive, to face her time without him, her fragile smile covers her fear, by the time the children ask how she is and she says she is fine, she will be convinced she will be. Her strength is her resolve.

Will

The power of Will... It springs eternal and is neverending. It is larger than life and when it seems there is none left, it reappears in time of need. Oft times, it is confused with it`s sister, Faith. The real difference would be that Will comes from the inside of a person which they know they have it but they don`t know how much, and that Faith comes from the inside of a person and they sometimes don`t know they have it there;sometimes, people do not know they even have it...
Will gives us strength. It teaches us that we need lessons to gain strength. The hardest lessons are usually the ones we gain the most strength from. Will helps get us through. It is how we look at it, how we learn, and how we see our lessons... It determins how many times it takes to go through before we "get it" or if we learn fast. Will tells us that we are capable when we don`t feel like we are, that we have reserves we are unaware of. Will tells us we are powerful when we are at are weakest, we have just have to believe that things work for a reason. We have a purpose, we were meant to be here, right here, right now, right here, at this particular time, at this particular minute, for a reason... This is Will.

Army

Many times, as an Army wife, I have overheard "normal" civilian people discuss military life. I am contantly amazed and awed by so many who know so little who have so much to say about something that they do not understand. Most things I just smile and shake my head on, as they are not worth the debate. How can one explain something when there is no point of reference? For me, I find it very difficult. It isn`t worth the hassle or the conflict nor the trouble of it in most cases.
Where I do take a firm stand is on my husband and my children. Since my husband is more than capable of defending his own stance on a large array of topics, I don`t. However, when it comes to my children, like most all mothers, my protective nature comes out.
Army brats are a special breed of child. All Military children are special blessings. They are the ones who come adapt to adapting. They are the ones who can changes schools like so many change shoes. They makes friends easily, not only because they are friendly but because they haven`t have a choice. If they didn`t, they would be lonely. Sometimes, they are. They are forced to lose friends too. Sometimes, friends they have known since they were in kindergarden, sometimes friends they have only known a couple of months. They mesh together with other military children very well. They share this bond. I mean, how many other kids do you know have friends all 50 states? How many other kids have lived in half of them? Many of them overseas? They love email. They love phone lines. They love adventure. They don`t love "goodbye"... They have learned that no matter how many times, no matter to whom you say it to, it does not get any easier.
Sometimes these "brats" get a bad rap. They will act up occasionally. Show out. They hurt. They ache. They feel lost. They feel scared. On top of all the normal stresses of growing up, they get to do it in the adult world of the military bases... Often times, they see thier parents sent to wars or conflicts for long periods of times, a year, sometimes longer, sometimes shorter... Sometimes, it is both parents... They rage when they see normal families. They do not understand why they have to "miss out", why they can`t have thier parent there when so-n-so`s Dad is always home at 5 pm... Why can`t mine be? So, Does this break the Army Brat? No.. It makes them stronger. They learn resilence. They learn courage. They learn patience. Easy? No. Seldom are easy lessons the good ones. Only hard lessons bring great reward. Do they cry when no one is looking? Yeah, much like thier parents. Only it`s even more lonely because at least the parents have each other. If they are lucky, they have siblings to share the ride of childhood with. Buddies in the trenches of the Brat life with...
Are they more special than "normal" cilivian children? Well, I guess it depends on who`s mother you ask. Personally, I think that my children are the most special in the world, not despite that they are Army Brats but partly because of it. ~ Jessica Renee

Why Women Cry

Posted

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?" "Because I`m a woman," she told him.

"I don`t understand," he said. His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, "God, why do women cry so easily?"

God said:

"When I made the woman she had to be special.

I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world,

yet gentle enough to give comfort.

I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complaining.

I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside hi! m unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."

"You see my son," said God, "the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides."

Beautiful Son
Such a beautiful young man...
I hurt inside when you make off hand remarks
about how you don`t think you are handsome...
How you think you are fat...
I cringe inside
I bite back tears
HOW could you think this?!
Look at you?!
You are so handsome...
Locks of curls,
almond shaped blue eyes,
wonderful teeth, a smile to die for,
and an upturned nose...
I have always thought you were beautiful..
I question myself...
Did I tell him enough he was beautiful?
Was I too busy? Did I do something wrong to make him think this? Is it the age he is at?
I wring my hands, my brow furrows...
Collin,
You ARE BEAUTIFUL
YOU ALWAYS have been
As you get older you will only become more BEAUTIFUL
I can`t wait...
It is like watching a butterfly come out of a cocoon.
This transformation
From Baby to boy
From boy to Young man
I can`t wait from Young man to Man...
My gentle, middle child..
If I have overlooked you in some way, I apologize
With all my heart,
Your selflessness and giving has allowed me to do it,
I have been blessed by you...
I know you will be a wonderful boyfriend, husband, and Father one day...
She will love you almost as much as I do...
Almost...
I love you.
Always and Ever, Your Momma

Just the Majic of Her Smile

Just the majic of her smile
is enough to light the room...

Just the majic of her laughter
is enough to make heads in another room gravitate toward her...

Just the majic of her eyes
is enough to burn her imagine within mine wherever I go, I look for her, knowing she is far away from me... in some snow storm... in some store...working...

Just the majic of her calmness
helps keep me sane here when I have no life perserver, long after the Titanic has gone down and the icy waters have claimed her people...

Just the majic of her
Just her
That`s enough
Just her very being

A day a new page
The chance to start again
To repeat past mistakes or learn from old ones...
Not knowing when our chapten will end.

With each new page comes a new challenge,
It is how one sees the simple things
Many people want to see life as hard,
Complicate things with things that aren`t complicated.

Every book has a plot,
Every life has a purpose,
Every path has a way,
Every PERSON has a PATH.

Do not be afraid to take the path.
Do not be afraid to walk alone.
Sometimes, when one is alone,
They are in the best company possible...
