Santa is a Stalker!!!

Posted

Think about it for a second. "he see's you when your sleeping. he knows when your awake" then he breaks into your home using the fire place.    you can call him jolly old st-nick, but I'm calling 911!

Oh The Pain

Posted

Well it was bound to happen. 9 years and I never jacked Knifed. well last night I did. My truck got smashed up and I was thrown around the inside of the truck like a rag doll as the truck smashed the side of the trailer, and headed into the ditch on a gravel bush road just before a one lane bridge and 3 am in the morning. I was finishing my last load when I lost control of my truck. when everything came to a stop I was in the passanger seat with the windsheild on my lap.  I got pretty banged up during tis thrill ride I can tell you. I think my shoulder blades impacted the passager seat.  I could not move when I got up this morning. just trying to get out of bed was a herculian effort. I'm ok however. no broke bones or head trama. but still hurts just getting around my house.

new job...agian

Posted

That's right I'm looking for a new job again. that's the joy of trucking. more jobs than there are drivers. if one carrier pisses you off. you can tell them to saw it off at the base and be working again in a few days.

anyway. I've applied for work at a mining company called De Beers Canada driving a heavy haul truck. (really big Tonka Truck)  It's a diamond mine up in the Northwest territories. so far up north trees do not grow there. too cold. ground is always frozen. better pay full benifits and a pention.

well that's all for now

All Right SCORE!!!!

Posted

Well if your the black bear that lives around the 3 mile marker on Mallette road.  A few nights ago one of the other truck hit and killed a moose that was standing out on the road. at the 4 mile marker. this was a huge score for the bear being all he's been eating is grass.

anyway job is still going good. I like this steady night shift thing. I only work 3 days shifts then 12 nigfht shifts. I hate the day shifts. getting out of bed a 3am is just wrong! I got a really goosd deal on renting a 1 bedroom house for $450.it's not very big but I don't have to worry about the people above3 or below me getting pissed of whren I come home from work a 4am and want to play my bass for a litttel before I head to bed.

The Shift From Hell

Posted

Man if it's not one thing it's another. first of all my shift started a litle late. waiting for my cross shift. but that's nothing major. anyway I got to a gravel pit to pick up some A gravel to bring to the 39 corner on Mallette road going up to the mine so the grader can fix that corner. while I'. dumping my load on the road. I get a little too close to the edge and  the steeling tire sinks and sucks me into the ditch. well it takes the next truck behind me to go up to the mine and get loaded and come back with a chain so that he can pull me out.  anyway I'm now 1 hour behind where I should be.  well I domp the Nickel ore at the smelter and head out to Sudbury for my next load. to pick up some copper going to Quebec. about a 3 hour drive one way. I get to the mill and jump in the loader to start loading my truck. I turn the key and nothing happens. great the batter on the loader is dead as a can of spam. so I call my dispatcher back in Timmins. "see if you can find a boost there. there lots of offices in the builing there" well yes there is but it's now 1am in the morning and there is not a person anywhere. I call security thinking they will know who I can call. "I don't have any idea who I can help you" he says and tranferes me to the control room. he is also ass clueless but he think that he may be able to contact the other trucking company that is on the mill site. and that he'll call the extention that I'm at in around 10 to 15 minutes. "Day transport will send you the on site mechanic your way" Great I can get this show on the road. after waesting another hour trying to get this piece of crap to start.

Truck is loaded and trap is on. lets scale out.....on the money lets get while the getting is still good before something else happns to me. well it's almost dawn and I"m not done yet. I'm so tired by this point that the rock cuts and trees start to look like buildings.  fuel the truck and hand it over to my cross shift and head home. after a 15 hour shift.

April Showers Bring May Flowers.

Posted

Nobody every said April SNOW!!!!  that's right I said snow. it's been snowing here for the past 3 days.  WTF! before that we had temps aroune +10C and rain. all the snow what just about gone. then BAM we get about a foot of snow. man Mother Nature is on the rag or something. I have a feeling we are going to have a crappy summer this year. well I guess we have to pay for the amazing summer we had last year. man that was the summer that would not quit. temps in the high 30's  and  few cloudy over cast days.  but I don't think we will get a repeat of that this year.

death to banks

Posted

$93 bucks in bank fees   Holy Crap. no wonder the big banks are recording record earnings every year!!! I admit that I don't have a chequing account but a savings account. but still $93 bucks seems mor elike a fleesing that a fee. Nothing like screrwing the customer up the ass and doing it with a smile. it also seems no matter wear you go you get it in the ass. credit unions are no differant. but I may look into joining one. I will have to do a little research into the Northern Credit Union here in Timmins. I have been with TD for a very long time and will try tio get a better plan before just switching. I will have to do this on Monday when I'm not working Night shifts..
