When your pockets are empty
Aspirations exhaust

When prayers go unanswered
Like an unspoken word
When you’re screaming for help
And your voice is unheard

When your morning eyes open
And your vision is dim
When all luck is lost
Your chances are slim

When you search for the truth
And find nothing but lies
When you constantly fail
And it becomes no surprise

When you’re facing the mirror
And see no reflection
When you can’t even stand looking
In your own direction

When joy can’t be felt
And you fake your own smile
When your laughter is forced
And it takes quite a while

When your friends become few
And you’re living in shame
When another day passes
And your life stays the same

When you cry everyday
And wipe your own tears
When the hills you once conquered
Become your worst fears

Tortured by misery
Frustration and sorrow
Anger today
And depression tomorrow
