Bobby Bare - " Sings Lullabys, Legends And Lies "- My dad loved this record. When I was a kid, I thought -- "how quaint." I was a dumb-ass. As I got a little older? I thought -- "it's brilliant." Taught me a lesson about both art and my father.
 
Hank Snow - "Country Legends" - Oft overlooked hero of country. A case could also be made that he was a rock 'n' roll pioneer. "The Golden Rocket" anyone?
 
R. E. M. - "Fables Of The Reconstruction" -- "Driver 8" is one of my all time favorite songs. Had the pleasure of singing it with a friend...many moons ago.  On a related side note, his use of the opening to "Talk About The Passion" to tune up has been indelibly etched in my brain.
 
The Clash - "Live At Shea Stadium" - Fuck the politics. The music was great. Like the Ramones, it is still hard to believe they're gone.
 
 
Headache inducing, marathon Sox loss. Josh Beckett is clearly ailing. Here is to hoping Lester comes through. Again.
 
 
Well, Pats haters must surely be smiling. Trashed by San Diego. I will say this -- hmm, perhaps Brady had a bit more to do with the winning than just the "system?"  No spy jokes, please.
 
 
Snack of the moment -- fresh pineapple.
 
 
Television of the moment -- "The Trial Of Saddam Hussein" on PBS.
 
 
Book of the moment -- "Moanin' At Midnight: The Life And Times Of Howlin' Wolf" -- Sam Phillips said it best, "where the soul of man never dies."
