A musically related side note, I've always been somewhat disheartened by those who dismiss Jimmie Vaughan as somehow inferior in talent to brother Stevie Ray. Don't get me wrong, I dig Stevie Ray. I was fortunate to see him live (several times) and I have the records. Though they both had similar influences, don't confuse their style with their substance. Stevie tended to be more rock (mixing Hendrix with Albert King) and flash, where Jimmie tended to be more spartan (mixing Slim Harpo with pick a King). In fact, it could be said that Jimmie did more with less. But both were marvelous players. They just approached their guitars in different ways.
Though the weather has evened out here, I enjoy running in cold, rainy weather. Keeps you alert and adds an extra element of challenge. Maybe it is just the feeling of defying the elements. Or thinking that you are. Perhaps it's a vestige from childhood, when a simple joy was had in splashing through puddles.
