I went to the store to buy some sandpaper. The total was $6.99 and I handed them my debit card. Declined. WTF? Run it again. DECLINED!!!!!
Run home...log into my bank acount. HOLY HELL!!!!! Some asshole(s) in Michigan had been having way too much fun with my debit card....or a copy of it I guess. Over $500.00 to Toys R Us in Roseville MI and about $700 in charges to someplace called Meijer's (seems to be like Target) in Livonia. Then $20.00 at a gas station. Either gas is really really cheap there or they drive a hotwheel. I called the bank. The rep looks up my account and before I can tell her what I need, she tells me that the debit card fraud division would like to speak to me. That's nice, becaue I think I would like to speak to them too. I guess I need to start checking my messages....especially when those unknown numbers leave one. oops. They had frozen my account....hence my not having sandpaper. The people had tried to charge another several hundred dollars worth of stuff after it was frozen. A lot of stores run debit cards as credit so even if there's no money in your bank account it will still go through...just causes some really ginormous overdraft fees. I'm glad my bank caught it when they did...they could have kept shopping for days, I just don't check my account that often. I'm going out of town on Saturday and even though my bank is going to put the money back, i won't have my debit card to use while I'm gone and the money won't be back in there until Monday. I have to say that K.J., the nice man at the bank is now my new best friend. :) He had me drive to the ATM and call him back. He opened my account, authorized the amount I needed to take out even though I obviously didn't have any money in there at the moment and then immediately closed it again.
Tonight, somwhere in Michigan people are playing with the new wii they bought with my hard earned money. I hope the controller slips out of their hand and smashes their new TV screen. Fucktards. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

It's so frustrating when the first you find out about it is when your card is rejected in a store somewhere. At least the bank was on the ball enough to lock the accounts, and are going to give you the money back.

oh geeez. Thats fucked UP! I hope they find out who has been doing this...surely ONE of these stores has a video camera on the registers?? Asshole pricks....I hope they got a faulty wii and have to return it with the reciept!
