What a lovely day! NOT!!!

Posted

Mood: Irritated, Music: None

Needless to say that this day started off great and sucked ass near the end.  I got my RC car just the way I wanted it and dialed in for some serious running this afternoon.  I did some final tweeks and then all hell broke loose.  Needless to say something tragic happened and happed pretty fast too.  The throttle body managed to work itself free and open up full throttle.  I deliberately ran it into a curb to stop it.  Yeah, I know that sounds crazy, but I wouldn't have sweated buying minimal parts for it.  I was soo mistaken though.  It hit the curb, bounced off of it, minus one wheel, and continued on it's route of devistation.  Mind you, I had the brakes pressed the whole time while this was going on too.  That didn't even slow it down.  With only three wheels, it managed to head downhill and proceeded to gain even more speed.  I should let you know that the engine this car had is quite powerful.  One notch below race spec.  Plus I had bigger gears, so it was more than plenty fast.  You can see where this is going can't you?  Needless to say that I couldn't run fast enough to catch it before the enevitable happened.  Yes, it slammed into a curb at FULL throttle.  I'm guessing that it had to be going at least 45+mph.  And it's now a parts car...I'm debating on getting another one like it or getting a race spec one that I can put my existing parts on.  Well, the ones that aren't broken.  The race one though is belt driven and requires being on a well manicured surface.  And that's something that isn't available for me to have.  So, the big question is...What to do?  Any ideas out there?
