Bitch, bitch - rant, rant.

Work was utterly horrific this morning. I have no floor staff to delegate and two shipper recievers that are new so they need to be taken by the hand at every given task. I worked an 11 hour day (which wouldn't be so bad if I weren't salary) and I'm not even tired, just angry.
Shit seems to flow downhill working in retail. Well, I'm at the bottom of the hill I guess since my pion staff is minimal. I think I'll just do everything myself from now on. Or perhaps HR should consider not using the "fog on the mirror" test to hire people. I mean, seriously. Why don't we just hire monkey's? Why pay people to waste space? I'd rather bank our salary dollars than waste them on these useless, incompetent people.
Yes, "ideally' this and that should get done. Thank you for the input. Give me the staff to do it. Or the space for that matter. I'm referring to my plugged stock room. I'm sure there's more merchandise in there than on the sales floor. Actually, I'm positive. Sad reality.
I wrote a previous entry about the hassles and redundancy of retail. I don't feel like babbling on about that again. Just a waste of time, really. Same with these "one on one's" with my manager. I bitch at him everyday about my concerns so why take an hour out of company time to do that? He knows just as well as I do what needs to be done and how it could be improved. It's a matter of initiating and enforcing it.
In case any of you are wondering, I work at Zellers. Warehouse supervisor/slave. My so-called jurisdiction means virtually nothing anyway. Mind you, so does my manager's. I rarely take orders from him. "Orders" that is. He'll come around and state the obvious to me as if I am completely clueless just to give his ego a little boost. I've learned to do the same back and I think he's catching on. I've been doing this for 4 years, I don't really need your input, but thanks.
Anyways, that's my rant for the day. Reply and tell me there is no future in retail so I can quit.
